FOR

STOPPING THE OIL SPILL

IN THE GULF!

Father …we come to you today at this hour, joining our voices and hearts together as one, proclaiming your almighty power and omnipotence over all.  There is none like you. You are…you were…and you are to come!  You are the same yesterday today and forever…and yet your mercies are new every morning.  You are kind-hearted and just; you listen to your children when we come to you, throwing ourselves upon the altar pleading with you to hear our cry.  You forgive us of our sins and we likewise release any ought we have with anyone who has sinned against us.  Let nothing stand between us as we bring our petition to you today!

Father…Abba…we need you now!  There’s a serious situation taking place in our land that desperately needs your mighty intervention.  The oceans are being polluted with oil that is gushing and spewing forth into them.  Life is being compromised and even destroyed because of holes in the equipment under the sea.  We are torn and divided as a nation over the problem. There seems to be no answer as to how to fix this international dilemma…so we are coming to you asking you to pour out wisdom on those who can bring about a solution to the problem.  You created the heavens and the earth…it all belongs to you, so you are the only one who can fix this.  We cry out to you and ask you with humble but confident lips these words…PLEASE HELP US!  Heal the waters…save the sea life…restore the land and help those who live and work around these areas effected by the escaping oil.,

We also bring to you the families of those whose lives were lost at the onset of this disaster, those who were working on the oil rigs in the Gulf.  Please be close to them and let them feel your power yet comforting presence.  Help them to call upon you for their every need. You are their ever present help during these dark and grevious days.

We likewise bring all those before you who are working fervently in cleaning up the mess.  It’s a tiring and tough job but these precious and dedicated people have chosen to commit to doing the work.  Strengthen them and let them not have any residual problems as a result of their efforts.

Father God, these days are prophesied in your word.  You told us in Revelation about the seas becoming poisoned and killing all that is in it…including the lives of men.  Is this a judgement?  Oh my God bring us back to our senses and help us realize that we can do nothing without you.  The vile things that are bringing desecration to this planet, we can only seek your forgiveness.  One day soon there will be a new heaven and a new earth, but until that time we are stewards and gardeners of this place we call our earthly home.  Help us to be better caretakers over the beautiful place that you brought into being, first for us and then for all your other special and unique creations.

So  now…We call  out with a loud voice!

OIL …STOP  PUMPING NOW!

OIL….You may not spill into the sea any longer causing death and destruction to take place for one more day.  We  declare that you have no more authority to deluge the waters and shorelines, fish and birds, or any other living thing.  Let there be peace and a quick restoration .

Father…You can and will do this, just because we ask! We submit this prayer to you for you gave us the authority to come into your throne room, and bring our needs directly to you.  Let heaven make a record of these words we’ve spoken, cover them with the perfect life blood of Jesus and help us hold fast to our confession until we see the result!  We are victorious through you!

In the perfect and precious, glorious name of Jesus our Savior and Protector… to whom we give all the thanks and praise ,
